Please download any PDF resources which are suitable to your workflow. Ensure you supply a test file prior to submitting PDFs for print purposes. Users of Acrobat Professional can pre-flight their own PDFs with our Acrobat 6, 7, 8 and 9 Preflight Profiles. We also have an Enfocus Pitstop Profiles (versions 6, 7 and 08) for download.

Pensord Distiller settings

If using the Postscript -> Distiller method of producting PDFs (recommended for Quark XPress), please download the Distiller setting for your version of Adobe Acrobat:

Distiller 9 - ZIP (3.94 K) drop directly into the Distiller window
Distiller 8 - ZIP (3.95 K) drop directly into the Distiller window
Distiller 7 - ZIP (4.03 K) drop directly into the Distiller window
Distiller 6 - ZIP (4.58 K) drop directly into the Distiller window
Distiller 5 - ZIP (1.33 K) drop into Acrobat/Distiller/Settings and re-start Distiller. Choose 'Pensord' from the drop-down menu

Download the following tools to enhance your PDF workflow:

Quark Xpress 4 and 5 – Colourised TIFF Fixer: enables you to successfully colour a greyscale TIFF in Quark (not required for InDesign or Quark 6). Mac - SIT (42.93 K) or Windows - ZIP (38.60 K). Installation: Download, expand and move to Quark Xpress/Xtensions folder. Restart Quark and go to the Utilities menu, check if AGFACTiff is listed.

Acrobat Distiller Refiner Tool: enables spot colour vignettes to work, correct page geometry and many other bug fixes. Installation: Download Cross platform ZIP (129.67 K) and place into: Mac: /users/shared/Adobe PDF 6.0/Startup/ or Windows: C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Documents\Adobe PDF 6.0\Startup. Remove any existing .ps files in this folder. Not required if you are using InDesign or Quark 6 or above.
