Pensord IPAC partnership working for publishers

Award-winning sheet-fed magazine printer Pensord has become the first and only Strategic Partner of IPAC (the Independent Publishers Advisory Council), further strengthening an ongoing relationship with the PPA (Periodical Publishers Association) that has been closely developing during the past five years – and the printer will be actively seeking ways to make this a partnership that works for publishers.

IPAC is a specific forum within PPA for the smaller and specialist independent publishers, who are a vital and expanding part of the publishing industry, and make an important contribution to the UK economy.

Pensord becomes the inaugural IPAC Strategic Partner following a successful three year stint as its first Strategic Sponsor, in a move that is intended to bring further benefits for independent publishers and the body that represents them, whilst further cementing the printer’s relationship with PPA.

Clive Foskett, publisher and Chairman of IPAC said: “It is tremendous news during this interesting and challenging period that Pensord has committed to a further three years with IPAC in its new role as our solus Strategic Partner. As a multi- award winning printer it is very clear that Pensord has at its heart a significant commitment to its customers, its people, and the magazine industry, particularly for independent publishers.”

Pensord is committed to working with IPAC across the three year period on a number of initiatives in support of smaller publishers. These include:

  • helping to drive recruitment by promoting  the benefits of PPA membership
  • collaboration with IPAC on various aspects of their awards – from encouraging an increase in awards entries, to playing a key role in the judging process
  • providing advice and guidance on a range of activities, including cost saving throughout the magazine production process, and environmental issues

Pensord Chief Executive Tony Jones said: “In our three successful years as the inaugural Strategic Sponsor we have enjoyed a close working relationship with IPAC in support of independent publisher members. We’d like to feel we have demonstrated value in that role, and believe that in our new role as proactive partners, we will achieve even more in supporting the independent publisher sector. There’s never been a greater need for a sense of collective strength in the industry, and if we can help IPAC and PPA deliver that, we’ll be happy.

Jonathan Shephard, PPA CEO said: “Pensord’s continued support for the magazine industry is something for which we are all grateful, and independent publishers in particular will value this latest demonstration of commitment from a key supplier to the independent publisher marketplace. We can be sure Pensord will back their words with creative and imaginative actions, and this partnership will be instrumental in supporting and raising the profile of an important sector.
