Environmental Award Win at PPA

Pensord wins Green Again!

Pensord triumphed in the PPA Production and Environment Awards at the end of March, picking up the Environmentally Sustainable Business award in a ceremony at OXO2, one of London’s most exclusive venues.

The awards are the PPA’s way of upholding and celebrating excellence in magazine production and environmental best practice. In addition to picking up the award on the night, Pensord was also shortlisted for the Best Environmental Initiative, and Best Magazine Printing Company awards.

Operations Director Karl Gater said: “Our effective waste recycling system provides financial benefits, and is a key corporate social responsibility at Pensord, so it’s great when that is recognised nationally against some stiff competition. All our Pensord People have bought into the drive for zero to landfill, so this award is for them.”

Pensord’s win was a reward for “taking its environmental performance to the next level – managing and mitigating its impact.” The judges looked at our performance within a number of strands such as: waste, energy, carbon emissions, buildings, transport, and stakeholder engagement.

Pensord was ahead of schedule in achieving zero waste to landfill before the end of last year after a 10 year collaboration with DS Smith Recycling (formerly Severnside Recycling).
