December 2016 will be a sad time for many Pensord clients and every single Pensord person as our very own Judith Chalmers, Jane Smith, retires.
Jane will be leaving behind her Pensord family and spending more time with her real family although, judging by the stories we have gathered, I’m not sure they’ll be happy at the thought!!
It would appear that Jane’s had her kids in tears and laughter with near misses over the years – including blowing up her silver rocket (1980’s mini) because she didn’t realise it needed water – a lucky escape for son and passenger at the time, Ian! She’s disappeared off a jetty into the sea fully clothed whilst fussing about in her handbag leaving the family in fits of giggles whilst she was rescued by a stranger! And whilst Ian and daughter Kelly remember a strict mother who would often wield the wooden spoon across the buttocks, she’s now a mellow, easy-going grandmother with four grandchildren who can do no wrong in her eyes! Or as husband Keith puts it ‘she turns to jelly when the grandkids arrive!’
We’ll be shedding a few tears before we break up for Christmas this year because we’ll be saying goodbye to a wonderful lady who has served Pensord and its clients so wonderfully well over the last 33 years.
They say that out of the mouths of children comes the truth and each of Jane’s grandchildren was asked to describe nanny in one word… and Joseph, Millie, Caitlin and Annacey came up with the following:
Caring, Beautiful, Chatty and Funny.
We couldn’t put it better ourselves. Jane, we wish you a very long and happy retirement. x
