Pensord's Green credentials

Pensord takes its environmental and corporate social responsibilities very seriously, especially as the site incorporates an area of special natural interest and the river Sirhowy flows near by. The company is accredited to ISO 14001 and FSC/PEFC chain of custody utilising modern, energy efficient, machinery and vegetable based inks (soya and rape seed based) during the production process. Waste process materials such as paper waste, used printing plates, cardboard and polythene are all recycled.

ISO 14001:2004 Environmental Management

The Pensord team is committed to the environment and the prevention of pollution. We ensure that all activities are carried out in conformance with relevant legislation and we seek to minimise waste arising, promote recycling, reduce energy consumption, reduce harmful emissions and, where possible, work with suppliers who themselves have sound environmental policies.

An essential feature of any environmental management system is a commitment to improving environmental performance. We achieve this by setting environmental objectives and targets which are regularly monitored and reviewed. These objectives and targets are clearly communicated throughout the organisation and all staff are committed to their achievement.

In order to ensure the achievement of the above commitments, Pensord operates an environmental management system which satisfies the requirements of ISO 14001:2004.

FSC/PEFC Chain of Custody

Our largest material use is paper, and we are committed to provide customers with access to paper from sustainable sources.

We therefore have rigorous procedures in place to enable us to source suitable paper accredited to Forestry Stewardship Council (FSC) or Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC) standards. Due to our ‘chain of custody’ certification we are entitled to print our FSC/PEFC logos on accredited paper where our customers so require.
