Double winner at the Excellence Awards

It’s always gratifying when others recognise your efforts and skills. It’s even more rewarding when the accolades come from your peers in the industry – people who really know what they are talking about.

That’s why our double triumph in the Excellence Awards 2008, jointly organised by the British Printing Industries Federation (BPIF) and Printing World magazine, was so pleasing.

Not only did we carry off the Improved Financial Performance award, we also won the Company of the Year Award for companies with more than 100 employees. What’s more, our Excellence Award double comes off the back of our earlier success when we won the 2006 Turnaround Award.

These awards recognise the best business practice in UK print and say to publishers, more forcefully and succinctly than we ever could ourselves, that we can be trusted, that we are a business you can do business with in the knowledge that our foundations are solid and our management structures are robust, and that we do everything possible to raise efficiencies, improve performance and make a difference for our customers. But our success and recognition doesn’t end there.

People Award Winner

Back on home soil in Wales, we beat off competition from global steel giant Corus to land the Western Mail Welsh Business Awards People Development Company of the Year 2008 award. The Welsh national daily newspaper award recognises companies in Wales that have improved performance and quality through the development of their staff.

This award was particularly welcome because it focuses on our core business philosophy – namely, that we succeed or fail on the strength of our people, and we can only progress and promise customer service excellence if we recognise and encourage their development.

We have proved time and time again that if you look after your people they will reward you and most importantly, your customers, with loyalty, commitment and hard work.
